It has the look
of a quick draw, what with the leather chaps and the way the hands
are positioned. And it wasn't all that long ago that this sort of
thing did occur here in western South Dakota. My pal the Rev. Cliff
is a very knowledgeable local historian, and was only a month ago
telling me about
when Poker Alice had a business estalbishment in Sturgis that in these
days would be illegal. A couple potential customers were raising a
ruckus
one night on a nearby building and throwing stones down on Poker'
Alice's place. She went out, or stuck the Winchester out the windows,
and dispatched the troublemakers - one wounded and the other ready
for the undertaker. A bit of local history.
