It becomes cool
to wear Mardis Gras beads of a type in other places. And there are
certain rituals and activities here that require them. Perhaps
at some later date we'll go into exactly what they are used for in
various places, but not right now. This guy has a small collection.
Others,
particularly the more adventurous types, have many strands hanging
from various parts of the anatomy. Which along ought to give the mentally
adept an idea of what sort of activity the beads are involved in.
At one time, they say Manhattan Island in New York was traded for
such
trinkets. They are involved in trading here, as well.
