Proposed Gold mine threatens Rapid Creek watershed

Corporate interests are trying to dig a gold mine in the midst of a popular recreation area and near a blue ribbon trout stream. Rapid Creek entire ecocsystem near Silver City is threatened.

The Black Hills has a sordid history of gold mine environmental disasters the past few decades. Including federal Superfund sites that remain expensive permanent dangers.

Public land is involved in this.
