Pennington
and Meade County (Sturgis) Divorce Rate Highest in
State
Sturgis looks to be not only a good place to ride
your bike, but also the place to tell that special
somone that you want them out of your life - permanently.
The divorce rate in Meade County and Pennington County
next door is higher than any other area in the entire
state.
"My
Way...
or the Highway"
This
area of South Dakota also has by far the largest contingent
of right-wing Republicans who vote against moderate
Democrats, whom they refer to as "environmental
whackos" or some other term of disparagement.
Seems to be very little room for anyone who might
have a slightly different view. Which is also, of
course, the perfect ingredient for a nasty little
marriage estrangement - witness the high divorce rate.

Wonderful Wedding Souvineer
Before
one concludes that the intrepid editors of this scholarly
publication are being too critical, consider this
- we actually think Sturgis is a great place to tie
the knot, or the black leather strap, which is more
appropriate in some instances.
Being married in the divorce capitol of the state
is not without it's conversational qualities for those
endowed with a particularly bizarre sense of humor.
Of which, the Sturgis Rally crowd fits in admirably...
