Pleasant
smaller lakes at the Sturgis Bike Rally
For
smaller lakes, either shore fishing or float tubing
is
excellent. Float tubes are very popular with fly fishermen
in the Black Hills. Of course, during spring when
the water is still very cold you'll need some good
insulation between you and the water.
Tubes can be transported on a bike, so they can be
used
during the Sturgis Bike Rally. And hey're fun. During
spring and summer you can tell quite a bit of difference
in lakes and stream stretches at different elevations
and locations in the Hills.
Try
spring to avoid Sturgis Bike Rally heat
At
lower elevations all the snow can be gone and you'll
be in a short-sleeve shirt on sunny days. Up high,
there are places where you can still cross country
ski along streams if you so desire. Depending on your
preference (some anglers actually like fishing snowy
streams), you can adjust your elevation for different
fishing environments.
During the Sturgis Bike Rally, no matter whether you
fish
the streams or the lakes, the Black Hills are one
of the most beautiful places to fish. Because the
Black Hills isn't noted as a trophy trout fishery
like some of the big waters in Montana and Wyoming,
there are still relatively few anglers on the water
here.
Zen at the Sturgis Bike Rally Zen
It's
still very easy to fish the secluded areas and not
see
another fishermen all day long. That is true during
spring and fall, when there are fewer fishermen out,
and also during the summer when tourists swarm onto
the Black Hills.Catching and releasing wild trout
is a great way to enjoy the Sturgis Bike Rally.
