In a speedy situation
where one is going along quickly, the look must
be gathered out of the corner of the eye as the piece of metal goes
flying by like a bat on the edge of a dark evening, sweeping down
low enough to devour its insect prey, and wheeling back quickly
enough to avoid a plunge into the deep.
