The sun glasses
to look the part in, both foreground and background. Nothing like
a dark pair to shiel the
eyes from ultraviolet radiation. It's necessary, unless you happen
to be from Mars where beings have evolved
with intense untraviolet light for eons and are thus not affected
by direct sunlight. In fact, it is said that
these creatures star directly into the light our nearest star without
doing significant damage to the retina.
