When you look
off in the distance at this Black Hills land you can get an idea of
where it got it's name.
The Lakota and probably other Indians as well called this place Paha
Sapa. It translates into Black Hills.
In reality, the translation is probably not entirely accureate. These
are mountains. But in calling them
hills it has probably had one good effect - fewer people come here
because they don't realize they're
beautiful mountains
