This snow squall kicks up across the Black Hills National Forest duringn spring. Snow is the norm in April.
There can be some snow in May, but that is more unusual. However, I've personally cross country
skiied in the Black Hills during June, which is actually the height of spring here.
The point is, be prepared for cold weather at all times. Even in August, It can get cold
enough for a jacket in evenings. And if it rains, it can be cold.
