Whether or not he is trying to look like the Waffen SS I'll leave up to you. You do see
some of the World War II German military look, including this notoriously looked down
upon insignia. I don't know exactly why people chose to do this, since it would be
considered very offensive to a great many. But in our photojournalism projects we
try to present an accurate portrayal. And this is part of it.
