Everybody has
a statement to make of one kind or another. Take these helmet decals,
for instance. Most of the statements being made
here fit in to one of about five categories - bike stuff, freedom
or rebellion (depending on how you look at it), conservative politics,
Harley
stuff, and of course the ever-present off-color stuff that finds its
way into many corners of the rally. It's kind of an American way to
have freedom of expressoin and speech. I saw a quote from Colin Powell
that was good - "Free speech is intended to protect the controversial
and even outrageous word; and not just comforting platitudes too mundane
to need protection."
