Here in the land of the northern Plains, the pale face first arrived on the scene a little more than 100 years ago.
First there were a few miners and roamers and mountain men who wandered through. Then the 7th Cavalry
came through under the command of Yellow Hair, who later ended his career abruptly along the Little Big Horn River
in Montana a day's ride from here. And now the place is literally crawling with those of the paler complexion, for good or bad,
however one may look at it.
